As you sarcastically hint, law is, for the vast, huge majority of lawyers, nothing more skilled than following a timetable and getting forms filled-in and submitted on time. There are also way too many lawyers, especially young ones. I did my time, got my llb (hons) Edin, and promptly headed off to do a postgrad in spying and terrorism, which was way more fun. Good preparation for the GIA thing, too.

If he worked in Washington or New York (and a few other cities, but especially these two), then he was probably there for the biggest boom in top firm legal salaries. Also, if he's 33 and retired like 2 years ago, then that's just as the "up or out" rule really comes down on people who aren't being groomed for partnership (7th, 8th year). 7 or 8 years at top firm associate salary during a huge boom decade is easily enough to live on comfortably if you saved and invested instead of getting "bottleservice" and paying as much for a parking spot as you paid for your luxury car.

Looking at the monthly stats from Dotlan Jita has more ships killed a month than any 00 sec system in the game
EC-P8R had 2000 kills less than jita in the month.
Fact is the residents of Jita see more explosions and violence than anyone else in the game.

Jita is not some leafy suburbia to be burnt down by some out of town mobsters. Its a cesspit full of scammers gankers and high sec greifers with little or nothing left to burn.

Maybe now there'll be more focus on getting CCP to dedicate the resources needed to change the Titan from a combat role to a support role with unique and cool abilities that benefit the collective that owns it, and not some idea that quick nerfs can accomblish anything for today's EVE combat even as a short term solution.

That's what I hope the PL members on the CSM will drive. Fix it for good.

Way back when they first created Contracts (I can't even remember what they were called before that) you could put up one unit of zydrine, but make the description "Zydrine X 500,000" and it would look like it really was a shitload. This worked for 2-3 patches before they finally changed it.

In fairness to CCP didn't that one kid just get a five year sentence for a bullying that led to a suicide? Right now the legal winds are blowing heavily against this kind of stuff, and I really can't fault a company for trying to protect themselves from litigation, even if the chance was small. Inaction, or any action that could be percieved as a token "slap on the wrist" could be enough to justify some form of complicity (like w/ file sharing sites). I can't imagine anyone ever winning such a case, but CCP would probably just settle out of court due to the the ridiculous cost of a court case like that, even if they are guaranteed victory. Just my guess based on some bullshit I dealt with years ago where someone brought a frivlolous lawsuit against my non-profit that we knew they had no chance of winning, but we had to settle due to court costs. But vOv I know fuck all about law.Either way, it still sucks. Sorry to hear it went down like this.

No exaggeration, the game REALLY needs some new villains. Goons do a great job, but variety is the spice of life and Goons are only filling a portion of the full "bad spaceship guys" spectrum.
