Fuck the CSM. The whole point of "capturing" it was to show the player base who has the power in Eve. The CSM will now be what the 5th and 6th versions have shaped it to be, with or without Mittani. It's actually better, because now it can be handled by "good" people, and Mittani can go back to being a full time asshole, which the game will always need. You really can't be the great villain and lead the CSM; you should be able to, but the average Joe Eve is still pretty wet behind the ears when it comes to separating a game from life (as this whole farce makes clear).

This was the best way forward by far, and is a surprisingly savvy about-face after such a ridiculous and ultimately empty act of self-indulgence.

No just his ingame one. I'm sure it was a joke, but really, once Mittani came out and said he knew he was wrong and he would be resigning (whether he meant it or not is irrelevant), you can't exactly complain when CCP decide to take him up on the offer.

As someone who voted for him, I voted for him to win, not necessarily to chair the CSM for a year. Quite literally didn't want that chairmanship anyway; liberated from the chains of CSM politics to ~wulfpax the entire galaxy.

Your saying people voting for someone who tried to make a difference in his first candidicy was the wrong choice? I mean, despit my being in Goons, I would have voted mittani either way. He did a good job of making sure his, and people in EVEs, voices were heard. No body can deny that, unless your just being ignorant. Like him or not, Mittan was a good chairman. I'm sure you can dig up the State of the Goonian somewhere, but he fully admits to fucking up, he knows that, I know that, everyone knows that. What's done is done, and I'm not saying he deserves to be back on the CSM. What I'm saying is that the votes that were used to put him in the CSM should be able to be elligible for a revote, or a full on re-election. Why? Because this is not RL politics, this is an internet spaceship game, and a re-election isn't going to make anything crawl to a halt. The council is like a panel of Elders. People who have been playing this game long enough, and have gained enough experience to give CCP a little direction. Cause we all know CCP is shit at this game.
