[Arrador] possesses a considerable understanding of ship configurations, strengths and weakness. He gives clear and purposeful instructions, is good at taking advantage of the fleet-composition he's dealt, and never loses sight of the main goal: fun. This, paired with an excellent tolerance for strong drink gives him an almost Churchillian capability to win, despite being completely pissed on booze most of the fleet operation.
If I were a software developer looking to implement an "IP ban" solution, I'd include a MAC address or other system identifier in my client handshake so that clients using a dynamic IP won't be affected. And I'd have a nice little table of identifiers so that I could keep track of the various systems used by the account holder as well. It's an easy and elegant way to keep people from logging on. If I was paranoid I'd include a timed IP ban too, with a timer that would reset/extend each time this IP would try to log on or create new accounts.
Not impossible to circumvent (try a VM combined with a VPN), but it'll catch the general 13-year old with ease.
And while I'd really rather not play Eve with this little douchebag around, I don't play Eve so you guys can have him and keep him.![]()
no they don't use a MAC address checker since that's too easy to spoof. It's something else - I think an RSA hash on each client install that generates its private key against other hardware components -- like they do for WGA auth. at any rate, it could just be straight IP and the guy didn't home his VPN right or something v0v don't know don't care really. Interesting theorycraft conversation to be had on CCP ban evasion though that would be great if it didn't, you know, probably get me banned from here for having it.
No joke this is what I spent my summer holiday doing when I was thirteen
It was fucking awesome, saw a dead body and poked it with a stick (it was a cat though)
by the way jimbo you never did confirm or deny what pizza you were sent, so I'll say it again ; Quattro Formagi and Pepperoni
And why's that? Because the site's founder is blacklisted by CCP as a hacker?
Feel free to have that discussion. We've discussed python injections, botting, and other not EULA/ToS sanctioned actions here; can#t remember anyone ever getting banned for participating in those disucssions either.
The facts have a strong anti-A- bias.
