The act of hunting supers to keep morale down is one of the first and foremost tactics that are know to work when going after an entity who can field more than you.

It always has been, its how we would think out the IT/BOB numbers, how we handled the NC's numbers, and its usually how we handle any other entities that we know have any number of supercaps.

It works, its expensive, its effective in what you want (less supers logged in).


But I guess your inability to see or deal with that is part and parcel with the reason that you and yours couldn't manage to hold on to what you had.

odda got caught on the gate , smartbombing stuff with a very minor gatecamp. by accident we had a fish fleet up 1 mid away. we jumped in(prob close to the same time as the dreads got lock on the titan) , and I locked him up(he was dct or in another fleet no able to join our fleet im not sure)
When I got lock on him with my super he was still in shield, so I thought oh well...lets hope he got armor tank fitted and he will be ok(triage carriers was starting to poor in, in addidion to our fishing triage carriers)

But dreads took to long to die, (1-2min a dread) in the beginning, and oddas armour just dispeared(he prob lasted 1-2min) with us trying to rep him. but since he had 0 resist it wasnt really holding.
We lost a few triage carriers afterwards but killed 30ish dreads I think. We was able to rep archons and carriers that wasnt in triage fine....so .....if ...only he had been tank fit><

to me it looks like,

- nominal tank as its in low sec and enough gang mates to refit against if there is trouble - more than enough to tank the gate guns for as long as it takes for the rest of the alliance to rage login if needed

- single XL blaster with triple sensor boosters for killing small stuff very low lock time and more turrets are just overkill against small stuff

- semipermanent smartbombs to kill anything that warps to the gate, pods, small ships whatever at no risk if you are alert and don't crash.

How could we change the game to make this sort of camping for you more of a challenge?

Scale gate guns to overcome any untanked ship?

Gate guns that neut?

Remove the ability to refit in combat? Make refitting station a lock in place module like clone vats?

Nerf lock time?

Increase the smart bomb prohibition radius on gates so ships coming out of warp onto the gate aren't hit?

How can we turn this into a serious game for you, rather than only losing a ship that got unlucky with a crash?

Possibly, 15 supers landed on him through a cyno, they were nearby fishing, and they got reps on him, but from what they're saying he dropped so fast that even if he hadn't gotten the "More than x Ships in Range of the fitting service" bug, he'd likely have died half changed over in his fit.
