Dump 1 Titan on a random fight and it dies. Dump 5 Titans on a random fight and it's a toss up. Dump 50 Titans on a random fight and it's over. Safety in numbers. Every pilot I've flown with over the past 5 years who now owns a super is either in Raiden, NC. or PL. I don't blame them. They earned (or bought) their shiny toy and they should get to use it. But the "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" does not apply to the vast majority of Super pilots.

While Wildside's argument makes sense, it reinforces the perception that PL has become a holding pen for those with lots of ISK, SP but not much tolerance for risk. I remember when PL was more like Darkside. They consistently beat our ass with sub caps all the time. On the rare occasion you best them it's because you were on your game and it meant something. Beating PL just means you were out of their jump range. Titan dominance allows alliances to simply "mail it in" and Creates internal skill rot.

First off, I'm not in PL.

Since when have they been risk averse? PL has lost tengu fleets and oracle fleets, and had a titan whelp, in my memory. Didn't bombing fleets do damage to PL in the russian civil war? PL has three things going for them.

1. They test and modify fleet comps based on the game that is on TQ today (they aren't comping for Dominion, or Incarna - their comps are based on ship/mod setups in Crucible).
2. People assume (incorrectly according to some recent fleet fights I've read about) that PL will always drop the super fleet, so they don't engage.
3. There are enough experienced and smart people in PL to take advantage of EVE within (and perhaps beyond) the scope of what the game allows.

One of their current fleet comps is Tachyon Oracles, isn't it? Without being a spreadsheet monkey I'm guessing they are cheaper than a T2 Maelstrom. Probably a bit more than a Drake, but we aren't talking a massive difference (although I bet the hull is still almost 2x the price). That's not a ship exclusive to rich players.

While others will jump them in to win the fight, not run at the first sign of enemy cap movement.

Raiden use them up north with impunity. Goons do not. In spite of the year long crying you clowns have put up for not getting
your grand supercap engagement, everyone knows that the second anyone outside the superbloc deploys its supers en mass, cynos will open up and along side
Raiden. will pour in PL, NC, XIX and whoever else is batphoned within the area. I've seen PL supers alongside just about everyone in north and east at one time or another. What is more surprising is that there are still morons parroting the same lines as you a year on in complete confusion as to why you never get a big supercap fight.
