As Alliance X, what're you gonna do? Sit there and waste years of built-up isk on a fight you know you're going to lose, or retreat to lowsec/empire/stain/wherever and wait for the contract to end? I think everyone in Eve was rooting for Solar in this last battle (even people within PL, tbh), and they stood up and put up a good fight for a bit, but now it's the same-old curb stomping.
At this point, it's becoming like empire wardecs -- you just alt your way around empire until the wardec ends in highsec, and you duck out of your 0.0 stations until your PL wardec ends.
*PL will do what PL wants when PL gets paid. End of story.
*PL has agreements in place to protect their goo...sound strategy and there isn't enough powah out there to unseat that bloc or those moons. End of story
*PL wants "good fites" but won't get em because their targets don't have the income stream depth to sustain losses as PL does.
*The wheel will continue to spin round and round in the same way until one of the above factors changes.

PL winds up using their shiny shit to mostly grind structures and gank small shit based on the factors list above.
So far since I've been in PL I have had my titan bubbled by goons / aaa / solar. I have to say there is nothing quite like having hostile fleets pounding away at your titan. One of those fights we lost a bus another fight we lost a LBH's Nyx. All I can say is it is fun high intensity ass clenched gaming. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit I can tell you as as a supercap owner it is fun to be in a organization where we use them daily for more than pos ornaments or structure grinding. PL has lost quite a few titans over the years but that's the price of admission to using them actively. I can say I will never go back to a alliance who is coy or risk adverse to using supers.
I feel the need to observe another rather visible thing : the strategy someone else indicated above seems to be working so far for Solar(avoidance). I'm looking at the solid member graph listed on their alliance page in EVE dotlan.
For an organization that has lost more than half of its sovereignty, their numbers seem completely unaffected.

I'm not bitching about it, I'd be doing the same thing. I've seen a lot of friends leave for PL because they own supers and *want* to use them. Who the fuck can blame them? I'd be flying a Wyvern right now if I thought I had any chance of actually using it, but I've been in my corp for 5 years now and don't want to leave just for a hull, no matter how shiny.

Actually -- this campaign has been *THE* most intensive fighting in my whole EVE history of leading these things. Delve 2 for the first 2 weeks was about as intensive as the campaign here, only this one maintained same level for about 4 weeks.
Only last week did the grinding structures part really come to play. I know you're just troll -- but thought it'd be interesting to provide some insight to others.
As far as SOLAR goes -- they don't give a shit what structures they loose. Just like they don't give a shit how many fleets they loose. They are the fucking VIKINGS of EVE when they can be bothered to play, and have the strange effect of making others around them hardened battle bastards as well.
There is NO doubt what's gonna happen when we move off -- RA is going to get raped like the little pubbies they are flying fucking ArtyAbaddons still and XIX is gonna get pummeled to ground since they have like 60 dudes who play. South is going to become the new DRF for the next 6-8 months until enough internal turmoil, russian RMT drama and carebear supercap losses creates sufficient rotting to collapse on itself just like every time before now ))). It'll make an interesting end of 2012 for sure and massively attractive farmland in the new south.
