He did make midwarp safespots. When he warped away initially, there was a cane next to him and he thought "Hmm, I should get out of here." He then picked a random moon from his overview and warped to it. That random moon just happened to be the same moon he had just DD'd a carrier on.

Amazing that the comms on the side losing the Titan were way more chill and "nice" to listen to, while the side popping the Erebus was going bat shit.

My favorite exchange was:
Guy1: "We're fucking heroes, man."
Guy2: "Who got initial tackle on this?"
Guy1: "Who knows? Who cares?"

Edit: I really do hope they ended up showering that Eris with isk. Hero tacklers are underappreciated and need to be shown more love.
