PL and xDeathx? Yeah- although calling them "relatively strong" is a stretch. For xdeathx their success is based on networking and backdoor deals. Nothing wrong with that but their strength is in allies and not themselves.
Its interesting to see that this way of "not fighting" is accepted by PL and others. While the -A- version is not acceptable.

This might be a shock to you, but the drone regions aren't empty. I know, during late UStz its mildly vacant, and by mildly vacant I mean 3-5 dudes per system in just about every system. Try to find that down south, or in Delve, or even in Fountain, you won't.
Comparatively the Drone regions are full of life, so this whole "empty vacant wasteland of bots" is full on bullshit, its no more or less full of bots than stain, or delve, or fountain, or deklien, or soon to be wherever RAZOR moves into.
xDeathx held the entire eastern front alone while the rest of us dog piled Delve when BoB's sov got turned off. He did this knowing he would take massive losses in both ships and space, and he did it without bitching a single word. He fucking trooped it out like a bro, and the second we were free in Delve, off we went to help pull salvage what was left of his space (IRC and ED lived over there at the time).
Thats not the first or last time he went out of his way to help friends, and his friends have always remembered that. He doesn't bitch when you reset standings, or hunt his renters or alliance proper. There's a reason he has friends, its because hes one of the few alliance leaders who's not an complete faggot.
By not fighting do you mean forming for every timer and dying in droves, organizing his pets into combat fleets, jumping into supers, staying on the field when supers show up, and generally dying like a viking?
Because there are about 15 or so battle reports from before we got here that demonstrate exactly that, we were lucky to get 2 sub cap fights out of AAA that didn't involve them running, and since we could hear them, the second they decide to run from a fight like girls they get the same treatment.
So yea, the way xDeathx approaches fights that can't be won is much more acceptable to us than the way AAA approaches them.

I know -A- posters are quite proud of their ability to keep on cycling down into Stain before recoving the old sov territory in Catch etc.
But given that a large number of the more successful alliances currently have relocated to entirely new regions and have improved immensely from it, do you think that instead of Catch being evidence of -A-'s ability to 'weather the storm' as it were, it is actually dragging you down?
Or am I not understanding the -A- culture again?

Yea I was doing some AWOXing with some ex-WIdot guys there this weekend and couldn't believe how positively bustling the place was. And fewer bots than I expected too.

I once solo autopiloted through The Kalevala Expanse in a bomber just to see if I could. Op was success, watching the Tengus disappear from local as I waded through space was amusing as hell.

A good question, but where as literally all of the rich space belongs to a nip coalition with the exception of WN space witch is rapidly being taken over by Mittens.
That leaves Delve which is occupied by brosefs in Nulli last I checked.
And also this, living in Catch and Impass, arguably one of the shittiest pieces of space in game has its benefits... there is literally nothing to loose and as it is now it is no purpose of AAA to be super space rich.
We cannot compete with the super powers in sheer numbers or numbers of supers, if by some act of CCP the south would get a huge Tech boost tomorrow it would literally take years to catch up with our main enemies in supers and that is if we get to build them in piece.
So fuck it, weŽll just play this game as we like even if it means goin to the other end of the galaxy when PL and friends come over and crap in our living room.
Add to that . Stain has been a home for many of the old timers in AAA for many years, it has decent personal income.. pvp a plenty in Stain and neighboring regions ... loads of fun.
The most bots we ever found when AWOXing were in Russian space. Whether down south (ROL/AAA) or out east (SOD/LOD) the space was full of bots. Tengus were prevalent down south, Ravens in the east. I haven't done any AWOXing since May of '11 though so I dunno if it's gotten worse/better.
I don't actually care about botting TBH. If people want to spend IRL isk on a terrible spaceship video game, that's their problem not mine.

We're actaully in the Drone Regions, AAA is operating in 2 places, back at home, fixing what we knocked over, and around Uemon, working with ROL. You'll find the lesser southern powers starting to grind back into motion now that all the behemoths in the area have moved off.
