Most importantly RvB cant whine about the other side overshipping in the tournament, I guess thats why theyre good.

Right; I'm somewhat befuddled by the realization that RvB FCs and grunts alike are so used to 'being blobbed' and outshipped by the other side that they keep their anger and outbursts in check or at least light-hearted. They learn quickly how to react when primaried and how to make best use of being ignored. And since they get fights hourly rather than weekly or daily, without the fatigue of sov-grind (their war with E-UNI was fought over a single POS) members tend to stay rather than leave. I have an alt in Blue Republic and it's unbelievably fun.

The more money people put on 1 side the less payout you get if you win. With TEST, this generally means that they put a lot of isk on the guy they know driving the payout up for the lesser known alliance. Thats why the odds for Mildly Intoxicated were so good payout wise.

That's a decent system, for a second I thought the only way that the odds could be that skewed were if it was calculated by external (ie, day-to-day EVE) factors like kill volume or something

I did a bookmaking service on a text-based MMO years ago, without delving too much into it I had to aggregate the rankings of individual characters and their past performances in organized fights. Sometimes I lost a little, other times I won windfalls, overall I got rich quick because people tend to bet on the name they've seen before (even if said player behind the name is absolutely ).

TEST had good odds because their reputation (as an Internet Spaceship Alliance Please Ignore) preceded them (low-SP, quantity-over-quality fighters).
