Honestly an IRC "backup" fleet sounds more like a liability then an asset. They'd find some way to send MACTEP's head to Krutoj on a platter without even trying.

Another fight just took place in Solar's home system of 9iZ, I think either station or Ihub were coming out. We can see a definite improvement for LOD, instead of getting curbstomped with 7:1 K/D ratios they almost got to 3:1. Legion of xxDeathxx still composes less than half of their combined fleet, relying on pets. Solar saves their system.

I was making snide comments about the potential of this war earlier, particularly at the thought of Solar grinding 6 regions of death space, but it's starting to look like that's exactly what they're planning to do.
Solar are good pvpers, and i think they have a viable chance to win this war. Its going to be about the grind as both have HUGE sums of isk to throw at new ships from living in the drone regions for so long.
Solar has a really steady pace. Today 1a8 aka LOD prime was coming out of reinforced. However it was a cynojammed with supers and suicide dreads in the system. Solar didn't go for it and stood down to pursue other targets. Instead they got another station system today and faceraped another LOD fleet. http://killboard.solar-fleet.ru/inde...ed&name=943709 Not everybody is showing up on related, but you get the picture.
Solar +1 station system. 8 station systems total captured by Solar so far. No stations or systems were captured by LOD. Over 80 LOD SBUs were destroyed by solar in the last 2 weeks. The amazing thing though, Solar is using just their own forces + Academy daughter corporations in Solar Wing to accomplish all of that shit. No batphoning, blobbing or, as NCdot puts it, practicing good cocksucking diplomacy. I think they are showing everybody a good example how EVE should really work.

LoD has 92 systems and 36 outposts.
SoD has 258 systems and 66 outposts.
Solar Fleet, for comparison, has 85 systems and 33 outposts.
If/when LoD is out of sov they're not going to have the luxury of falling back to the rest of their space. Who's going to keep paying rent to someone crashing on their couch and more importantly allegiance to an entity you're paying for space but can't hold their own space? SoD doesn't need to fall. LoD without LoD sov is the end of LoD in it's current form.
I fucking hate referring to literature (hello The Art of War, I see you skulking at the back there!) with regards to EVE, but I'm pretty sure this topic is covered somewhere in The Prince - something about how you can't rely on bought troops unless they are supplementing an attacking force, as in a defensive war they will simply clear out as they have no ties to the person paying them save for their money, and it's not worth the loss of life (here, the loss of cash from ships being asploded) for them to defend when they could just go turncoat or flee. It's easier for a hireling to run off to the next paycheck-giver (in this circumstance, the payment is "space" and rent is merely an investment) than to fight for land they have no sentimental or political attachment to.

Any update in this war as it stands it kind of the only one thats interesting.
Solar Fleet just seems to be rolling through outposts in Outer Passage. They picked up 6 outposts within the last week. I don't know if they have any more in reinforced, or if they're going to run out of steam or what. If they're seriously going to try to take over every single XIX/XWX outpost that's a tall fucking order. Not saying it'd be particularly hard for them at this rate (assuming, again, they don't lose momentum), but it's a ton of :grind:
There will be some resets in the coming days. Even though some alliances decided to try and stay neutral as they considered in an internal dispute between xdeathx and solar, xdeath will make the choice for them and reset them. Which was to be expected now that Goons are moving into Branch.

As of yesterday at least, Cluster of Rebirth which is one of the largest LoD renting alliances is still blue to both Solar and LoD. I'll update if anything changes, but directorship has told everyone to stay clear up till now.
Not much going on really. Solar is purging Outer Passage, slowly but surely. LOD is crying on the forums how unfair it is to pressure their dear renters with Supers and that Solar has no space honouuur. Solar tried to beat their heads against the 1a8 wall again vs supers and a cynojammer. Didn't get enough people to accomplish anything, had a 'goodfight' 40 solar battleships vs 84 LOD battleships with supers, came out about even.
Yesterday Solar managed to kill a cynojammer and reinforced a few things in LOD home system before cynojammer was replaced. Today a few structures are coming out in 1a8, LOD prime.

Their FCs are crap, their fit is crap, their territory is crap. Proven again and again over the course of this war. POS is down, waiting on the Ihub.
Gypsy band was on the field with a bomber squad, bombing both sides. Solar lost 5 BS to them out of the 8 total BS losses, LOD around 10.
IRC finally summoned the courage to reset Death today. They're the little fucker in a fight who runs in and lands a sneaky kick when the target is on all fours from fighting their three, bigger mates.

Also Solar was bouncing people out of the gordon empire pos that xdeath were sitting in before the ihub came out of rf,
and managed to bump out a few tempests and a vulture and kill them while there friends sat in the pos watching.
Stain empire turned up with a tier 3 bc sniper fleet with of mainly naga's with a few recons thrown into the mix and was shooting whoever was on the field,
mainly xdeath's tempest fleet that was shooting a anchored bubble on the station.
