That's exactly what I referring to. Your member roster number may look intimidating when it's bloated but it really doesn't take long for people to take note of what you can actually field. Therefore there's no real advantage since the 'intimidation' is short lived and only serves as a way of biting off more than you can chew. Then when your 1000 man carebear conglomerate gets curb stomped by a smaller alliance it just becomes another thing for your active players to be demoralized by.

Maybe my confusion is rooted in me being new to the game, but when is the last time an alliance took/defended valuable space from another just by bluffing with their member count?

Ok Lads, First of all panic It seems that MM and some friends will move north for their northern campaign. We have yet not rcvd any confirmed information that Tribute and NcDot is their target. For the same reason our orders(Mortis Angelus and Ncdot Alliance) is to sort out our pvp ships and get ready for some nice fights and good fun. NcDot is happy that they are comming to us(if we are the target) this way we dont need to travel to get fights. We are not alone and we will have of course some friends coming over to assist us in this campaign which i hope will end in us getting a lot of cap/super and titan kills Pbd will most likely not be a prime target system BUT if they come to tribute we have to expect hostile roaming gangs. - Until further notice i want us to have an ALT next door for better realiable information on incoming neutrals. - ALL you fuckers on TS. - No more AFK mining until we have proper intel on where the new battle ground will be. - Pay attention on Coms/Local and intel channels. o/ /Thar Kahn aka Gazthenailer (Mortis Angelus and NcDot member)

Bat Country have agents, sources and fellow travellers in a shitload of alliances but for some reason we are reluctant to post forums stuff or mails (esp forums stuff) from our strategic targets within minutes of getting it. I guess we can deal with being booted from The Methodical Alliance, however, if they start timestamping logins across all their corps (they won't).

Agreed. A Great Northern Reconquista is just so far-fetched that the grunts won't believe it, and the few irrevocably deluded that do will actually finally have their delusions banished by the complete farcical flop that such an effort would become. They could go pick on Vale renters, which could be great fun and a morale boost, but my guess is their need to maintain the delusion of relevance will force them to pick a target that can help with said maintenance.

Another front against RA somewhere is my guess, something where they can piggyback on the outcomes of AAA's efforts regardless of the actual impact of their side offensive.

My top bet is still that they try to hook up with AAA-block to raep rus & pets and help -A- gain back Catch. Maybe get a region or two for themselves in the process. My reasoning behind this claim is that -A- might actually be willing to bond with these dudes, cos DRF if again united and on the warpath ain´t no picnic. RAWR knows that now when COVEN, SE and ROL are rolling with -A- again the win win win scenario is higly likely. And CAASEROL has FC´s that can handle those sort of operations so all RAWR has to do is enjoy the ride, supposedly. This is all speculation vOv but what are forums for..
