I have to say in all my time flying with Molle he never seemed to me to have much of an ego - if there was shitty work like anchoring POS's (seriously though - POS's take mins now instead of hours to setup) or hauling crap molle would do it.

I know his eve-o posts were pretty full of it - but I think thats from the early days of the game when everyones posts were half RP.

Meh - it matters nothing to me anymore anyhow so I have no interest in brown-nosing, I don't like cults of personality one way or another but I found Molle to be pretty chill - stuff like when we lost 5 freighters ect he was all "go buy some more space pixles" rather than "OH MY GOD YOU RETARDS!!!"

Just going to echo the above message..

During my shortish time..Molle was pretty much the calmest person I've come across in the game thus far. He also controlled a vast amount of the poses in the game on his own. In the few fleets he lead whilst I was around, he didn't shriek targets out, it was a pretty collected approach. Likewise when Gentlemen's Agreement dropped a load of covops bombers on us in KFIE when we were moving to Curse, where we lost 4 freighters full of stuff, he didn't swear at us, he didn't call us useless, he just shrugged and said that's eve. Whilst I'm sure many of you have laughed at some of his posts on Eve-o and his interviews in the past, overall my experience of him was pretty positive.

Anyway, as I said to you Sec last time, sincerely good luck in the game. I enjoyed the few roams I went on with you. If you need a few newbie hulls to shoot at and very fresh and new FC that's clueless, come looking for me and we can make sweet love somewhere in our ruptures.

In regards to being dedicated to the corp: I actually paid 40$ and reactivated Artemis (my freighter pilot) with the goal of helping with logistics since I didn't do the last tower.

I should also add that the vast majority of people in EVOL were actually very understanding about my RL limitations on gameplay, so no hard feelings.

If you are mediocre but good at handling people then you delegate stuff to people. I have no real standards to compare molles ability too - I was far too junior a grunt to know much, I was reflecting on personal contact with the guy, I quite liked him and never found him to be the arrogant guy his (in)famous eve-o posts would suggest. I think he liked the idea of creating a narrative and hamming up the bad guy thing - anything other than a cold analytical or stupid internet spaceships approach is considered to be "I put on my wizard cloak" rp these days. Maybe molle missed the mark with all his "tock tock" and omnipotence stuff but I thin khe probably believed far less of it all than people think.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong - I'm going on personal experience maybe he was a clossal dick to other people (but I doubt it) outside his "ebil space emporer" forum persona.

Honestly, I wasn't planning on talking about the reason publicly, but it wasn't rage-quitting. I was asked to put up 3 towers in my time in EVOL, and I put up 2. As I was about to put up the third my boyfriend broke up with me, so I didn't do it. Everyone knew and I notified the people responsible. Molle did it himself and sent me some angry messages; it was pretty clear that he did not think highly of me, so I left. End of story. No anger on my part, just moving on to somewhere else.

Yes, I only want to FC. I was willing to put up a few towers, and I did put up 2 of them, and the third I didn't get to because of RL shit. Overall, though, the style of gameplay and leadership in EVOL just didn't mesh that well with myself IMO. IT's (haha get it) really not that complicated.

If all the EVOL dudes upheld themselves to his behavior standards we wouldn't even have the last 2 pages of this thread. Alan was cool too - always said what he meant. I'm posting the mirror to make it clear what was being said about me behind the scenes, good and bad. I still respect pretty much everyone in EVOL.

Well, might as well have out with it. If this doesn't prove that I wasn't a good fit (no matter who's fault it was) I don't know what will. Over time I've discovered I really enjoy doing a couple things in EVE and not much else. If that doesn't make a team player (despite 2/3 towers complete, notice that the 2nd tower wasn't even mentioned as complete) then so be it. Basically: I really fucking hate putting up towers but I did what I could considering anyway.

From memory most people's threads don't have that much in - I think it's more to do with the fact that EVOL had quite high hopes for Sec that a lot of :words: were posted.

As far as I can see it all boils down to Sec being given space-chores to do and them not getting done while playing tanks. Evol guys rage about lack of teamwork and post many many words about it and Sec's lack of e-honure. Molle says "fuck it" - does it himself then gripes at Sec.

Thing is, EVOL sort of have a point if you can wade throught the hurf blurf - if people agree to do something and don't, it's shit. Not because "you let us down bwaaaaaaah " but because in a game about teamwork if someone can't do something they need to get someone else to do it or you have idiots with no initiative sitting about wringing their hands becasue they can't do their bit (in this case they needed POS's for cap moves and couldn't do the move till they were up). It also means that dull crappy stuff like anchoring POS's doesn't end up being one persons "job" making them ragequit. My understanding is that all the POS mods ect were delivered four weeks earlier - so you are looking at 2hrs effort at most.

To be fair, I don't see much in the way of Sec bitching about anything - he's right , it turns out that he and EVOL leadership are not the best match. I don't see why it is multiple page worthy. He decided that a corp where he is going to have specific demands made on his game time isn't for him and moved on in what was actually a pretty no-drama way (other than moving the thread - that's kinda asking to be trolled!).

Edit: The third-person thing is pretty weird to be fair - some people need a gimick though, it was fun trying to make him get muddled trying to parse stuff into the third person....

I could see throwing stupid "Do this the way we tell you or else" requirements at grunts, but if you're actually interested in cultivating excellence I don't see why you'd throw that at an FC. For an FC or leader you are, ideally, looking for creativity, drive, situational awareness, and the ability to command respect. Failing to put together an aesthetically attractive POS is one of the stupidest tests I can imagine.

It strikes me that EVOL made the right choice for the wrong reasons. Clearly, with lots of RL crap to do and the inability to put up a third POS (apparently no longer a truly mind-numbing chore) Securitas wasn't in a good position to be groomed for leadership right now, and quite possibly wouldn't have been a good choice for a line member depending on the level of activity EVOL wants. What bothers me about it is that it seems so many people took it so goddamned personally. I don't see the harm in a simple "You haven't completed the tasks we've assigned for you and don't think you'd be a good fit for us right now; feel free to try out for leadership/membership when you have your real life sorted and feel enthused enough about EVE to make it a gaming priority over World of Tanks." Hell, that's how Securitas seems to be trying to take it despite other people doing their best to push back against it. It is a game, after all, and it's not like he leaked sensitive information or tried to manipulate people into leaving the corp.

Much as I love drama - I'm currently eating a bowl of zuppa inglese gelato as if it were popcorn, F5ing for new and exciting ways in which people drive daggers into each others' hearts - there's a point at which it just seems so very unnecessary. Entertaining as hell, yes, but unnecessary.

Uh, there are no SDF rules on that page. Seriously, there are not. There are rules for the forums generally, rules for EVE sections, rules for EOU, and rules for Other Stuff, and rules for shitheap. There is nothing pertaining to SDF.
