A few years ago I bought an iPhone after trying several palm / windows phones with little success (They were good at the productivity stuff and shit as phones). The iPhone was a great buy, even for a non apple fan because it was a great phone first with good apps as a secondary.
Now I'm out of contract and my phone is needing to be replaced. I'm also thinking of leaving AT&T because they seem to be turning off towers over last few months. I hear it's because of the upgrades they;re doing but really, I shouldn't be zero or one bar(s) in downtown Atlanta.
I've been told the Droid is a good platform (as a phone) but I'm not familiar with specific makes and surely not all of the different models can be good. It's not like the iPhones with a choice in color or memory.
So... Any opinions on the new iPhone4's and other smart phones would be much appreciated. It's most important I have a phone first and then email / web connectivity. Ideas on what U.S. networks are also good would be welcome. I'm in no big hurry since I need to get my divorce settlement signed before committing to another two year contract but I'll probably move quickly to disconnect her when I have the signatures all finished.
Thanks in advance!
