Explains the answer to most of your points I would think. Thanks for comingthough.
As an aside, those who think it’s about e-honour and stuff – it’s not. It’sabout how you choose to play the game.
After theGeminate episode, we were welcomed into the Clusterfuck Coalition. At the time, with the conquest of Fountain still underway, we decided that the best routeforward was to simply get stuck in and do what we could to help – and startedthe grinding of the Skaven constellation.
What we did notwant to do was to then turn around and begin our new relationships with the Fountainfolks, by trying to negotiate to take some of the space that they were alreadypromised – not the best way to kick off relationships, so we set our eyes onDelve.
AIF then went straight into campaign mode to get us some space and were one of the originalThunderdomers – but one who didn’t buy our space but worked hard for it. Aftermultiple ninjas and ninja attempts (and one notable win under their noses) fromPL, we almost started to lose heart and gratefully accepted our space inBasilisk from TEST – only to have PL promptly leave and have us fall headlongdown NJU and SPNZ constellations the next week.
We didn’t getgiven our space in Delve – we ground it out and earned it.
If we are then faced with our allies heading into a different theatre, and were left to try tohold the Southern fort; then we did everything we could think of to make a goof it. We had to use our heads, and worked out pretty quickly that we had toomuch space, with too few numbers, across too few TZs, to realistically defend the entirety of our space alone.
So in a perfectlylegitimate move, we had no choice but to reduce our attackable surface, andpull back to conserve our strength for attacks that we could determine, rather thandefenses determined by our foes, and planned a guerilla style campaign followingthe divestiture. Never once did we say we were leaving Delve completely and forgood.
As it happens,Nulli offered us assistance – we did not go and seek it. They asked us tochange our timers to EU TZ, we didn’t just do it expecting them to defend us.With B O R G promising assistance and Nulli as well, we saw an opportunity tostop the leakage of space, and turn the tide and grind MM back out of NJU. So we took it.
Literally days later, without informing us things had changed, we find out on Kugu that the scenario had been ditched.
If it is a crime to hold discussions, and gain commitments from people you respect for a giventask, and then surprise, surprise, get the shits when they back flip before theink is even dry – Guilty.
The only currencythat matters is this game is how you choose to play it: Can you be trusted? Or are you not to be trusted?
AIF is a small alliance. We strive to be a better alliance than we were yesterday, and the daybefore that. We are not elite PvPers, but we take commitments seriously, and weare loyal and steadfast allies. We also strive to be beyond your normal shittylittle alliance and claim the ability to act independently.
We know this gameis all about imaginary space pixels, and therefore see no reason NOT to givethings a go, instead of running off at the first sign of adversity. I do not thinkit was a mistake to at least see if we could mix it up with the Refugees. Whythe fuck not? It quickly became apparent that we couldn’t solo – but you neverKNOW this shit until you push it and yourselves – and funny stuff can happen sometimes: You have to be in it to win it.
Having said that Ican’t imagine the average MM member would be happy with this outcome unlessthey are entirely goal focused and do not care about the process. For the immediatefuture you will have space in the middle of two virtually empty regions, wheremost people are off fighting campaigns elsewhere. Good luck with that. I also madea point of contacting Vlade last night and congratulating him on this(temporary) victory. In a game of turn and turn about, MM appear to have wonthis round and gotten what they wanted – so well played sirs.
EDIT: Somethign goign wonky with the formatting - sorry for wall of text
Now if only that was in Comic Sans, we would know what Army Command felt.

Understood.
E-honor and 'how one plays the game' aren't equivalent, but can overlap.
I'd argue this is said overlap, but I won't impugn your motives by ascribing them to e-honor...The only currencythat matters is this game is how you choose to play it: Can you be trusted? Or are you not to be trusted?
Apologies for straying off-topic, and please to resume currently scheduled rantings regarding sc-balancing, NC history, and the like...
The average member of any alliance is by default kept in the dark and doesn't know what is going on until they get the propaganda version of events. This is probably by default because half are probably spies.
I think the only thing you can really ask of your leaders/diplos is that they are upfront with the other entities they deal with. If we promised things or implied something and just fucked you over then I wouldn't be happy, if I was playing. I am not sure if there is anything such as space pixel karma but I don't think you can expect other entities in the future to take your word seriously if you have a track history of being EVE douches.
I'm not sure if you feel MM has done you wrong and to be honest I haven't kept tabs on the movement of various corps/alliances and what history we had with all of them, but I would be disappointed if my old alliance was in any way dishonest or misleading in their intentions, not that it really matters because I don't play.![]()
Honestly, the average MM member has no fucking idea what command is up to. Those that are active, including most midlevel FCs, just show up and shoot at what we're told or go and try to gank stuff.
Given all the political shenanigans among the factions in delve it seems the Game of Thrones reference fits well. And thanks, its nice to win a round here and there. Of course we don't want sov we want sov makes it hard to lose.
What I was actually getting at with that statement was that as in many things the route to the objective is often as important or possibly even more so. So take our current space holdings as an example: We were given Basilisk by TEST, but we took NJU/SPNZ ourselves. The process of achieving the objective was important - and of course the average member of AIF who took part in that campaign from the beginning therefore values our Delve space in part becasue of the effort and process that went into it.
In MM's case they may now achieve the holding of the NJU constellation, but largely through lucky timing and politics as much as if not more so than direct effort of the rank and file.
i am of the belief that poeple value most and then fight hardest for things they have earned rather than thigns they are given. Same end result - the means matters.
As to the matter of diplomatic wranglings with MM - well they're always interesting, and Vlade and I had a few rather "forthright" ones. Any issues we may have had would be more attributable to command strcture and authorisation than direct misdeed though - so as far as i am concerned they're OK.
Also pro-tip: don't write walls of text in Word 2010 and then copy that shit in - fucks it up but I can't be arsed to fix it![]()

Wusti is really chill guy , i witnessed many alliances being kicked out of their systems , and the leaders was allways ....really bitter..but wusti is different
See you around Wusti.
Notepad++ is a very effective GPL-licensed (so free) alternative that I swear by. Try editing a 25MB text file in notepad and then use notepad++ and shake your head sadly at what MS must be doing in memory in order to take almost a minute to make the same simple change that notepad++ does instantly.

If I forget thee, O Goonfleet dot com, let my right hand forget her typing.
I'm out for one day and what the fuck happens?
I can not imagine how anybody can really be happy with the outcome except Stainwagon, who if i get this right, pretty much brokered the deal and bullied everybody to except it so AAA can throw more people at the Russians.
How can anybody of you be happy about this?
Is it Delve? Is there something of the Region that makes People prone to insane stupidity?
Hey prippa you nigger why don't you return our goons with spoons posts back to the goonswarm shit post ok thread. tia

So its russians versus russians? How can that not end in 10 minutes worth of lag?![]()
Jesus, all these people trying to explain the situation and I'm still clueless.
Admittedly I'm always clueless.
My sympathy goes out to Wusti and AIF in this matter. It sucks to loose your space like that and it sucks to have allies that could atleast have told you straight up whats going on.
And gsus what happend to all that thunderdome will stick together and we will fight for our land together rhetoric? I guess it was just a propaganda show for your members.. When push comes to shove it seems to be deals left and right, no matter who gets backstabbed in the process. Reminds me of the former Providence fight club![]()
Wusti, I hope you strike back with a vengeance. It's quite sad to see people get fucked over in he manner that you did.
Unfortunately, a 50 man Ferox fleet would get curbed stomped by anything other than a pots and pans fleet.
Poor Ferox, the only thing it really has going for it is that it's better than the Brutix.

<<< DELVE UPDATE: GOING INTO AUGUST >>>
Summer is at an end.
With the death of Jon ‘Unicorn’ Arryn (GENTS), Robert Baratheon (TEST) bestowed the position of Hand of the King to Ned Stark (Wusti). A man of unquestionable honoure and respect, Stark was given an offer he could not refuse. However, in a drunken misplaced spear throw, Robert was gored by an NNC Boar and soon departed the Seven Kingdoms of Delve for the heavens of Deklein. The crown of Delve fell onto his ‘son’ Joffrey Baratheon (S2N). Secretly the incest child of Cersei and Jamie Lannister (Herc and Makalu), Joffrey began a reign of terror on the Seven Kingdoms of Delve.
Joffrey surrounded himself with unsavourily individuals of questionable honoure – The Hound (Chaos Theory), The Mountain Who Rides (Huns), and Balon Swann (Vera Cruz). After Ned Stark (Wusti) made accusations of dishonourable conduct by Joffrey (S2N), he was arrested and held against his will in a small corner of Delve. Ned’s son, Robb Stark (MM) called forth his bannermen including the Greatjon (Br1ck) and Smalljon (RMT) to wage war against the perceived illegitimate crown of Joffrey.
Robb Stark (MM) descended on the river lands of NOL- and attempted to take the fight to Lannister forces (AAA Bloc). Initial success for Robb (MM) came by using flanking cavalry manoeuvres (bombers). However, these attacks were rebuked and the battles culminated in the Battle of the Green Fork (RCI-), whereby a Lannister tactical victory proven to be a strategic victory for Northern forces (S2N won fight, MM gained C0n stations near Fountain).
Despite cries of “My NIGGA NED”, Ned Stark (Wusti) was executed by Joffrey (S2N).
After many battles and 'FC fatigue', negotiations began between Robb (MM) and Tyrion Lannister (AAA Bloc) for the exchange of hostages. MM giving up its claims to attacking C3N and resulted in gains of stations.
The true war; however, has yet to begin. Dany Targaryen (Goons) has united the tribes of the Dothraki (WiDot, FA, etc). With the defeat of the People of the Lamb (PL), Goons were running high on morale; however, DBRB (Khal Drogo) got a minor cut on his arm by a lamb (IRC) which has become infected and caused him great illness. Time will tell if this will hinder the great 'big boned' Khal.
Winter is coming.
Summary
After a month of intense :sov wars: and attempts at good fights, Refugee Coalition (MM, Brick, RMT) have negotiated a NIP with AAA & Co. BORG, due to an action-filled diplomatic exchange over ratting rights, broke ways with MM and swapped over to AAA Bloc. GENTS, unicorns of Eve, went north to single-handedly save all of GoonSwarm from the New Northern Coalition. Molle’s former fortress constellation was taken by BORG.
After mucho fights and ‘burnt out FCs’, AAA and S2N negotiated a NIP with MM/Brick whereby RC would gain control of C0n constellations bordering on Fountain in exchange for no more attacks on AAA&Co sov. S2N has been called up by AAA to help fight against WN in Provi.
The question on everyone’s mind is what will happen in Delve now that they main competitor (S2N) is deploying to Provi. Will MM/Brick make a play for Fountain? Will TEST push back into Delve and regain their previous holdings?
Most importantly: Will the :because of sov war: excuse be done with now that the NIP has been negotiated?

Very nice post. Hopefully winter should prove to be amusing if the hints dropped from ccp that things might get a shake up![]()
Good update.
The ending of this NC invasion was always pretty obvious.
One month ago: http://www.kugutsumen.com/showthread...180#post260180
+What surprises me is that the former NC entities haven't made a deal with -A- regarding Delve. If they had foresight, they should get -A- to realize their usefulness as a nearby ally, concentrate on the TEST pets and the TEST sov. It's not like the former NC entities and -A- don't have a common enemy, after all.
Anyone could see this coming, only made too much sense from an -A- perspective. Get rid of the TEST pets and make the entire region a stronger shade of blue. Took a few more weeks than expected, but any other resolution would have been stupid. Nice to see -A- making smart (and callous) decisions. They certainly would make a more useful ally than what's in Delve already, from an -A- perspective. Only half of the region is allied to -A-, and a few of those allies have larger amounts of space elsewhere (ROL/FAIL). The other pets are fine people to have tea with, I'm sure, but not more useful than castoff core NC providing a useful buffer against TEST/Goons while being rabidly anti-RUS at the same time. Are you suggesting Chaos Theory or Hun Reloaded would have made a better showing in Geminate against the RUS than Brick Squad did? C'mon now.
Winter is coming, can't wait. Until then, Shame on a nigga for the lack of good fights in the dome.

But honestly, I just don't understand MM and that's all I need to say.
Ya, I'm still not getting that lean, mean spacetiger feeling from MM, but I'll keep hoping.
took enough work to get something worked out with the refugees... I had been pushing for some kind of standings due to the impending threat of DRF and whoever they decided to call down. I wish they would have stayed north and carried on a forever war, but that wasn't in the cards. Nulli grunts aren't too happy-but I don't know what the fuck they expect-they live in NPC space so you're never going to win. The point is MM have no love of DRF, so why not serve common interests for the time being, we can always have more fights later.
“Isn't it funny how the mood can be ruined so quickly by just one busted condom”
It is right here.
Let me scroll in a little bit...So, faced with these factors, we accepted the 'deal', got space to bear in, put ourself back on the map without playing some more station ping pong, gave ourselves a entry into the new war brewing without committing ourselves as a meatshield, did not have to set a single entity blue or lose an ounce of control over our blue list and what did we lose....no more sbu'ing C3N...a system that would have been empty and undefended or blobbed with thousands had we continued on our present course.
