Back when battleships were king, a player was only able to make a fraction of isk and hour than a player that has a carrier can make now. Hell, I have a corpmate who spent 3 weeks killing rats and he now has the money to buy his super cap. He made 100 million an hour ratting and there is no way you can make that kind of isk with a battleship.
But, as we all know, ships costed much less back then....there also was not as much isk in the game back then as well. Back then, the cost of a battleship was a greater percentage of a player's income, and it took longer for him to gather the isk to replace it. Jumping from a cruier to a battleship was a pricey endeavor, and not many poeple wanted to do it, but if you decided to save your isk and roll in a smaller ship, it was "YOUR CHOICE to not spend the isk on this arms race."
If you feel that neg-repping me will validate your position, then you are sadly mistaken. Reality is, you chose, for whatever reason, to not spend the isk to buy the bigger ship. If you are like Goons, you decided to rely on your large numbers or low-skillpoint players to make up what advantage a cap ship might give. Thats fine...every group has their own idea of what fleet doctrine will work. However, when the weakness of that doctrine is found, do not scream foul and demad that the counter be nerfed. Intresting thing about this game is, eventually a counter is found for every fleet doctrine out there.
