Meh, its an interesting concept and in a game like eve which is more or less a sandbox its pretty interesting to try to break it every now and again. Problem is you will be left with an awful lot of sand to shore up as people get sick of one group of ~hon bros~ holding all the moons.

The difference that needs to be understood is that we aren't just talking about a NIP between DRF and CFC. We are talking about a NIP that includes taking SOV everywhere in nullsec where sov can be taken under this umbrella, and turning certain regions into, essentially, NPC nullsec but where the players own the stations.
I think if the goal here is to actually end EVE Online, this is the fastest road, faster even than Incarna, the eternally unfinished expansion that killed EVE. Because when you unify nullsec (or at least take possession of it all) you essentially are recreating what everyone complained about in the NC - a giant swath of non-combat space. Sure, a few die-hards will still get fleets together and go thunderdome it somewhere, but conflict drives change, and prevents stagnation, and this concept is the death of said conflict. Without the threat of loss people will just dock up and wait, we see this every day. NIPping all of sovereign null merely expands this "dock up and wait" to any station anywhere, ensuring that conflict will actually decrease, and people will stop logging in because what? I'm going to run incursions because I want more ISK for the fleet of combat ships I never use because no-one will undock when we roam into their space?
Of course, I, like Manny (wut?!), still enjoy some aspects of this game, and ending it isn't something I'm really interested in, although my wife would be behind it 100%.

If I am to understand this right, the Mittani -- the self-proclaimed "king of space," leader of CSM 6 and pretty much the last good hope of the player base for some accountability within CCP, wants to turn nullsec into a bigger blue fest than it is now and instead of fighting over sov, take the resources of most of the 0.0 holding alliances and place them in empire space, warring with empire corps and using supers in combat whenever possible to make some sort of statement about the current state of play in Eve Online?
What a bad idea. The first thing the scrubs you've got in those 0.0 alliances that are part of the DCF is going to do is head to Jita and camp 4-4, shooting everything that comes out of dock. Okay I can see the fun in that for about five minutes. What do you guys do when the corporations of empire space just decide fuck it, drop their corps and everyone migrates to the NPC corps in a mass exodus? All this really does is cause a headache for people who want to be in empire, who will have to abandon one of the features of the game (corporations) in order to be able to do their thing. You'll see teams of subsets within the NPC corps. No one will know who anyone else is anymore in local and Eve forums, except for the lucky DRF who gets to keep their corp ticker without fear of reproach.
CAOD gets a bit quieter -- not such a bad thing really.
After a while though people will start leaving the game. Not the bittervet assholes like us who post on k.com or fhc either... the people who love the game despite its flaws and still play, and who played all through the bad expansions. The people who kept a positive attitude during the rough times because they had faith in the devs and fellow players as well that the game would get better. Maybe for them it never got bad at all. These people start leaving in droves because they can't play the game anymore. Griefed out by the fucking Mittani. Melvin the Mission runner and Kevin the Carebear. You never gave a shit about them before -- they were just ships passing by. Little people playing the game in a small way and enjoying it. When those people leave because of this it won't be CCP they blame. It won't be the expansions or monocles or engine trails or MT. They will look to you as the reason. And that is how Eve Online will finally die. It won't be because of CCP's unfortunate design choices - it will be because the biggest power bloc in the game got bored and decided to break it for everyone.
I don't know what to say to any of that, except I guess I put more faith in the Mittani to "Make Things Right(tm)" than I should have. Underneath the facade of the King of Space, you're still supposed to care about the people who play this game. You're still supposed to want people not to leave, not force them out. I really hope this is a troll and that you're not seriously considering doing this. Or if you do follow through with it please do so in typical GSF half-assed fashion so it doesn't ruin the game for Melvin and Kevin.

I've been contemplating this while on the CTA this morning and have concluded that this would actually be a boon for small gang elite pvp types. Currently the only real places in nullsec for easy pvp (in all timezones) is Fountain and Cobalt Edge. A unified nullsec with a few freeport or pay-for-standings regions (using a 3rd party sov holding alliance for freeport region infrastructure) would force empire and lowsec players into a easier access nullsec. Once a hi-sec jihad begins, empire dwellers would no longer be fully protected by Concord and would seek a more profitable area with the same potential risk. Thusly, freeport regions would be crammed full of mindless idiots (like 6vdt) ripe for the small gang harvest. Please excuse any grammatical errors as I typed this on my phone.
