Please donate! We are losing our Tech moons to Goons and can't RMT enough to pay for our BF3 server and all the new upgrades we'll need to play at max graphics settings.
Clan Play!
I don't really see that as an improvement....
well someone's never had the pleasure of flying the F15 on Daqing then![]()
If they don't fuck the flying mechanics all up, you will come to know the terror that is DruzidelCastro on the PL server.
I usually just ended suicide bombing shit in a jet because I couldn't hit the shit with the actual bombs. That and C4 jeeps kept me entertained.
open beta starts on the 29th

So you remember all the shit about the removal of dolphin diving?
Yea, totally still able to do that.
[Arrador] possesses a considerable understanding of ship configurations, strengths and weakness. He gives clear and purposeful instructions, is good at taking advantage of the fleet-composition he's dealt, and never loses sight of the main goal: fun. This, paired with an excellent tolerance for strong drink gives him an almost Churchillian capability to win, despite being completely pissed on booze most of the fleet operation.
Current complaints:
Sound is fucked, it loops and double plays sometimes.
Natural health regen is ridiculous, theres currently almost no need for health packs from medics
Corner clipping with guns is sick, they can shoot straight through corners at times
Currently keybinding seems broken, as in you can't
Dolphin diving was gay then, its gay now.
Grenades stick to small shrubs when you throw them.
All snipers seem to have a flashlight stuck to the scope of the gun, which is NOT to be confused with the regular flashlight, which is fucking blinding.
if you want to never have to ask the p/w for caspian; http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960869-battlefield-3/60472817
only works with chrome.
The beta runs surprisingly well on my PC. I only have an AMD 6670 but it runs everything fine on medium settings, I thought I was going to have to play with everything on low.
The sniper flashlight is only visable when the sniper is looking in your direction, i.e is about to kill you. I think it's an awesome feature, it makes snipercamping much more difficult. Atm the bolt action snipers are pretty amazing, probably a bit overpowered even, so the scope glare is a great counter to snipers hiding in bushes etc.
I also like it when people see the light coming of my scope and go "ohfuck" right before they die.
Can you stick C4 on a Jeep/plane/chopper and how do I get my copy of BF3?

Its just open beta right now. As far as your question I honestly don't know since I haven't actually seen any vehicles(there is only 1 map/game mode available). However I did find out that my gfx card is horribly outdated and can't run it, so I've had to play it on console.

Is there any way to swap to burst and single fire like you could in BF2?
yes, V is fire select, some weapons have full auto, semi auto, and some have double tap, so it depends on the gun.
at least you are no longer blinded when you are low health and have to find a medic to be able to play againNatural health regen is ridiculous, theres currently almost no need for health packs from medics
flies shit fit corp lach's
I literally spent the whole Friday evening sitting at my computer and playing BF3, like six hours straight. So far it's been fun but it's really buggy at times. Eagerly waiting for the vehicle maps.
Also the sounds are awesome as hell.
Has anyone played on the 64 and 128 player servers yet? My client crashes when I try to join them.
I've only been able to play the 32 player Operation Metro servers. Here's hoping they'll release the Caspian Boarder to the general public.
65 players and above are hacked servers. You can get your EA account stolen and/or banned by joining.
Sometimes either the servers bug hard or the client fucks up so that you end up one meter under the ground. Other fine examples of server/client bugs/desyncs is that I unloaded about 200 rounds from a M249 at around 5 meters and didn't hit a single time. He then proceeded to stab me in the face.

edit http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...-update-2.aspxThank you for playing the Open Beta and making the final game better!
We are very excited to see so many gamers join our Battlefield 3 Open Beta. Here’s an update on the Open Beta from DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson.
I want to give you an overview of how the Open Beta is helping us shape a fantastic final game, what we are implementing based on your feedback, and how the Open Beta will help us deliver a robust gaming environment from day one.
The Open Beta is a true Beta
The Battlefield 3 Open Beta is based on software that is more than one month old. We need to test the new back end dedicated server structure we’ve built. Not only have we built a new game engine, but an entirely new back end system so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of dedicated servers on all platforms.
Just like normal procedure when releasing a game, the Open Beta has had long lead times due to testing, certification, and setting up. This means that the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game.
We had to do this in order to have as many people testing as possible, in order to ensure a top quality experience when the game is released. However, we’re confident in the Battlefield formula and confident that our fans will support us in order to make Battlefield 3 better.
Dedicated servers require dedicated testing
The biggest reason for running the Open Beta is to stress test our servers and back end. Already, we are seeing 6 times the number of simultaneous players in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta compared to the Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! The fact that Battlefield 3 is clearly our biggest game launch ever by a magnitude of 6 makes it doubly important to test everything.
We are constantly updating the News section on Battlelog with information on what we are fixing from Open Beta to final. We appreciate your time and your feedback. The data and feedback from the Open Beta will not only directly affect the final game of Battlefield 3, but its future development and support.
We’re heading out on the road this week to let journalists experience all aspects of Battlefield 3. Stay tuned for their previews, and stay tuned for the final game on October 25th. The final game will look, play and sound better than the Open Beta. You have helped making sure of that.

So far no major problems with the game except for the painful "join as party" thingy as i never get any notifications about it... could be firewall problem tho i guess.

It's a battlelog problem, others having same problem. Firewall shouldn't effect battlelog.

leaked list of the expansions weapons
yay for L85, boo for no MP7
I think Karkand and all the maps in the DLC are going to be like BC2: Vietnam, so it's essentially a separate game from BF3.
Looks like they've made the jets move faster than 50 mph, which is great.

Caspian Border is now available to play for the final weekend of the beta.
Here's the other new multiplayer map:
So far I've crashed my jet into trees, cliffs, walls, that motherfucking big tower, tanks, jeeps, myself, other jets and managed to kill myself midair while accidentally ejecting from the jet.
So far it's been a blast, really brings back the memories from BF2.
I really also like how I can just take a tank and bomb the living hell out of a small hut filled with snipers or something and actually manage to bring the whole building down.
The destructible environment seems very fun.
