First of all, this is posted under Finance, although it's naught but fearmongering.

But the quotes kill me:

Lisa Schmidt, 48, of Vancouver, Wash., thinks about Sept. 11 "just about every day" and almost every time she sees a plane.

Seriously? EVERY day? EVERY time she sees an AIRPLANE? OK, maybe she knew someone who was killed.

"The intensity of thinking about it, and confronting the thought of it, still is very uncomfortable and I didn't know anyone who was killed or injured," said Schmidt, owner of a marketing company.

Oh. Nevermind.

For some people, like Susan Garrison of Carthage, Tenn., her fear of more attacks keeps her away from airports.

"I will not fly," said the 54-year-old Garrison, even with stepped-up security. She said she hasn't set foot inside a plane since Sept. 11. "These people are the types of people who would get jobs in airports. If they want to kill people, they're going to do it."

Meanwhile, she gets in a car and drives every day...

Yahoo Finance comments == best comments on the internet. I've often wished Goons would sweep in for a month or so and fuck with these idiots.

I track the market there (not that I invest, but it's a fun distraction during the day at work), and click on stories on occasion, to see what level of retardation middle america has slipped to this week.

I mean, I know people are stupid and backwards, but my brain just can't continually hang onto just HOW stupid and backwards people can be. And they're all commenting about FINANCE. My theory is that it's part of the whole "I support the Republican party so that one day I, too, can be a multi-millionaire and get a bigger trailer" thing.

They're also wicked easy to bait.

I remember the holloween after 9/11 my mom wouldn't let us trick or treat beyond our street for fear that terrorists would get us. Of course, she is just a retard who watches the news too much.

NYC is sooo fucked. I on the other hand only live in an area with 3 large military bases. Those aren't targets, right?

Probably not. There are at least 10 things you do every day that are more likely to kill you than a terrorist attack.

You're more likely to be killed by a cop than a terrorist. Alcohol is FAR more likely to kill you.
