Everyone loves risk free PVP, rifter and titan pilots alike. The rest of the time its really a question of (1) when you see an opportunity you think will work - especially a risky one - do you have the balls to go for it, and (2) how much effort you put into shaping the battlefield to create those opportunities. Goonies were dangerous and fun because they had both - balls to go all in if the chance presented itself, and just enough behind the scenes :serious business: to shape the field quite well too, sometimes literally. Since that date, 2011-02-02, Goons alone has added more duders (+~2k according to dotlan) than PL has dudes in it total. Blobs, supers, whining, no u mad - all just words. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Mate mate I am not worried about losing ships or care about risk free pvp because I am known for giving no fucks about going balls deep. What I got tired of is I would call for supers to login to fight PL and non would login except for the same few. Id ask people to take the effort to be prepared for ops whilst giving them all the info they could need making sure markets were stocked addressing bearing issues so every dude had places to make isk. To only see people not show up or not try or be prepared. Also b4 someone says it was because im bad im always willing to step the fuck aside and let someone else do it. The problem was most people didn't step up didn't want to fight unless it was assured victory etc. Thats why I went to PL . I just got fed up with it all. Large coalitions don't like to fight unless they can win thats the whole reason for coalitions. Coalitions are all about risk free pvp get as many chucklefucks together as you can and just overwhelm.
Even after all of that crap, you still had fun and got your Drake blobs to fight (even if you welped them)

Another uneventful night in the New North. Goonbros formed with another 300 duders with 2 tech and 3 systems coming out of reinforced. MQ-, an FCON system, was the only system that was jammed for whatever reason. FCON had spent most of the day evac'ing assets from RQH (the other RF'd system), so they left the jammer down. I assume they assured the Goons that the jammer was up all day, but still I decided to make a play for the Tech instead of the random FCON system because CREAM get the money, dollar dollar bill y'all. So we did our own thing and dropped dreads on the first Tech moon coming out. Shortly thereafter the Goonbros went to a midpoint that was right next door to our 20 dreads. It was pretty hilarious, 20 dreads sitting in siege right next door to 300 Alpha Fleet. Luckily nobody noticed so we peace'd out rather quickly and the Goonbros marched on.
While waiting for the MQ- SBU's to become vulnerable, we decided to go shoot some WIdot station system (K4Y) in Fade that they forgot to jam. So we reinforced the station with about 20 SCs while WIdot in local called us dirty blobbers. According to our support fleet, a Stiletto, the Goonbro fleet moved to within 4 jumps of K4Y. I'm not sure how close they actually got, but I did see them leave MQ-. So then they had to turn back after we shoved the station into it's final RF and we stood down for a bit. Bored, we decided to do some bombing runs but our mid was just out of position so we missed our best shot. After that I warped us to the wrong result so we bombed two Rifters and a Scorp. Op success.
After 4 hours of shooting structures the Goonbro fleet went back to VFK and stood down, too tired to save their Tech. So we went in with some dreads and nuked that, played some l4D (which I am awful at, in the event you were wondering), and listened to Norm Gustav make fun of Puerto Ricans. All in all, a good night.
Also w/r/t Zagdul's post about how they couldn't kill an SC before the entire SC blob landed on them: I would like to point out that the Nyx that mysteriously got bounced out of his POS in bridge range of YA0 in a dead-end system with HICs all around was, in fact, bait.
