Considering the speed... for it to work the responsible party must have petitioned a "tip off" else how could they guarantee that you'd ever be caught? (as I understand it most e-bay'd isk is passed around with a low conviction rate).

I'd petition back your suspicions and ask that, if you were indeed petitioned, that it be investigated - also ask them to investigate how many people have actually been banned this way.

I sense another pit of corruption opening up

Scary how someone can get you banned like that.

If someone hacked your account, they could taker control of it, loot everything on your character, post it up on eBay, and then turn around and report it to the GMs, getting it perma-banned.

I know at least one person that it has happened to, and it sucks hard.

You were probably lucky to have a clean-slate GM handle your petition. 200m is not even that much ISK to try and get somebody banned, that guy was an amateur.

I'm sure with the right amount of ISK, and with the right GM in your pocket, it would be very easy to ban someone and sweep it under the rug, without any chance for reprimand.

Scary!
